Brenda Annette Doyle was born on December 26, 1953, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late David and Joyce Hanks. Brenda was called home to her "Lord and Savior" on July 26, 2024.
She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System where she graduated from Carver High School. In 2003, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Sojourner Douglass College.
As a drug counselor for over 30 years, she dedicated her life to helping others overcome their addictions. She touched so many lives.
Brenda gave her life to Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. One of her greatest passions was doing God’s work. Brenda took great joy in street ministry, speaking to the young men on the corners about the Lord and changing their lives.
She was a loving and caring woman with an extremely compassionate heart. She was truly a joy to be around. Her presence brought warmth and positivity to everyone she encountered. Whoever had the pleasure of meeting her was touched by her kindness and genuine spirit. Brenda had a flair for fashion and had an exquisite sense of style. When she stepped out, she made a statement. She loved skating, dancing, singing (karaoke), taking trips, and events with her close friends. Brenda loved her family and enjoyed spending quality time with them. She was fond of planning and organizing family gatherings. She would be the first to organize game nights and holiday dinners. Her all-time favorite and beloved by the family was hearing her sing the famous "Santa Baby" during our Christmas gatherings.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, David and Joyce Hanks, sister Alberta M. Hanks, and brother-in-law William Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving sons, Douglas Vines and Brian Lee; two daughters in-law, Shaunnie Vines and Darlene Taylor-Lee; five grandchildren, Javan, Douglas and Malia Vines, Taylor and Tylen Williams; one brother, David T.
