Brenda C. Dorsey

BRENDA CHRISTINA DORSEY, known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Granny, Nanna, NannaBanana, Sugar Bear and Grandma was born on January10, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland to Jack Owens and Lavera Teixeira. She was the second child of ten siblings.

She was educated by Baltimore City Schools. For many years she traveled as a military wife. Brenda will be remembered for her sharp fashion forward attire and her love to dance. In her younger days her siblings would jokingly say throw it in the creek Brenda as she swayed her hips and two stepped to the rhythm of music. We are sure with her sass and poise she is two stepping all the way to heaven. Brenda kept a beautiful home and drove all her grandkids crazy with early morning Saturday cleaning. She had a green thumb and loved gardening. Brenda was most proud of her children and grandchildren's accomplishments. She displayed their awards and trophies all over her home.

After the passing of  her daughter Deborah she and her daughter Antonetta took on the task of raising Deborah's four children. Who was later adopted by Brenda and Kevin. After 8 years of friendship Brenda and Kevin wedded on July 24, 1989.

Brenda was preceded in death by her son, Vance, daughters, Deborah and Norma Jean, both mother and father, Jack and Lavera, sisters, Norma Jean, Maxine and Denise, brother, Reginald, granddaughter, Chrishelle, grandson, Roger and great grandsons, Bacari and Kendrick.

She leaves to cherish her legacy and memory, her husband, Keven; daughter, Antonetta; son-in-love, Ricardo; sons, Christopher and Ambrose; daughter-in-laws, Yanae and Deara; siblings, Delores and Jaqualine; brothers, Michael, John and Eugene; granddaughter; Victoria, Veronica, Sabrina, Angelecia, Vantallia and Ashley; grandsons, Rashad, Anthony, Vance, Clarence, Ambrose and Jaquan; twenty-four great grands and a host of family and friends.
