Brenda Juanita Courser, affectionately known as Bren or Lady, was born on January 16, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Arthur Eley and Thelma J. Peoples.
Daylight….
Brenda graduated from Eastern High School and attended Coppin State University. Brenda grew up in East Baltimore along with her brother, Reginald “Reggie” Eley and sisters’ Denise “Neicy” Toliver (Baskerville) and Andrea “Peanut” Richardson. Growing up, Brenda enjoyed roller skating, movies, arts & crafts and meeting and talking to people. As a young girl, Brenda attended New Antioch Baptist Church on Eden Street where she accepted Christ in her life.
Brenda met and married Lemuel Courser. And from that union one son, who proceeded her in death, Brian and daughter, Diarra Courser, were born. Brenda worked for Enoch Pratt Free Library for over 20 years and later retired. Brenda was always willing to help anyone in need and would open her home to anyone. Brenda enjoyed shopping, collecting various odds and ends, baking pies and was truly a home maker. Brenda was a very caring, nurturing and feisty person. To know Brenda is to love her. She would make you laugh at the crazy things she said and did.

Brenda J. Courser peacefully departed this life on December 16, 2022. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Diarra Courser, grandson, Keyshawn Lyle (known by Brenda as Boo Boo), great-grand daughter, Kyndoll Lyle, along with her brother, Reginald Eley (Sarita), sister Denise Toliver (Michael) and sister, Andrea Richardson, nephews Donell Thomas (known by Brenda as Boo), Ryan Richardson and Antione Eley, Aunt Cleo & Uncle Cloyd Chaffin, Cousin Calvin & Roslyn Jones along with a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
