On June 21, 2020 an angel came and took Jean on her final journey. Beverly “Jean” Holland, a life-long resident of Baltimore City was born on July 16, 1947 to the late Osborne Holland, Sr. and Mary D. Eagleston. She received her education from The Baltimore City Public School System. She worked in the Healthcare industry as a dietary aide and later as a factory worker for BISM, Blind Industries and Services of Maryland.  She was a conscientious worker and valued a job well done.

Jean met Eugene Ayers, Sr. and was blessed with two children, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Jean lived a fulfilled and was known by some as Dimples. She was outgoing and fierce, quick witted with a shoot from the hip approach to sharing her opinion. She was artistic and creative, which could be through her flare for fashion. Her memory to the end was sharp as a tack. She was outgoing and supportive of family and friends.  She loved to sing, dance and cook.  Her favorite singer was Patti Labelle.  Her favorite song she loved to sing was “Betcha Be Golly Wow by The Stylistics.  She loved her children, grand and great-grandchildren, young and old; whom she affectionately referred to as her babies and baby-babies.  She enjoyed hosting celebrations, spending time with family and friends and retail therapy.

Jean is survived by her spouse of over 50 years, Eugene Ayers, Sr., her children, Nathan E. Ayers, Sr. and Ya’el Bat-David;  daughter-in-law, Pamela Ayers, son-in-law, Mika’el Ben-David; grandchildren, Tameka Alford, Tanesha Alford, Nathan Ayers, Jr., Jamal Ayers, Sr., BenYamin Ben-David and ZaCharee Bat-David; great-grandchildren, Jameel McCormick, Tori Blue, DeMiyah Ayers, Phillip Dixon IV, Jamal Ayers, Jr. and Phaith Ayers; three sisters, Barbara Jones, Faye Askew, Sherry Ellis (who preceded her in death), two brothers Charles Ellis and Osborne Holland Jr.(who both preceded her in death), one brother in-law Cornelius Askew, one sister-in-law Gloria Pollard; best friend and mentor, Vernetta Graves, close friend Albert Rawlings Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
