We are here today to honor the memories of BEULAH MAE HARRIS JONES. She went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 24, 2016 with her loving family at her bedside. She was born to the late Theodore Roosevelt Harris and Gertrude Lee Blackwell Harris on October 31, 1930 in Lawrenceville, Virginia. She was the youngest of three children, her brothers, Milton and Wilbert Harris preceded her in death.
In 1939, B.J. as she was affectionately called and her family, moved to East Baltimore. The family settled at 2016 E. Preston Street, where she resided for over sixty-five years until her illness.
Beulah accepted Christ at an early age in Virginia where she attended Paradise African Methodist Episcopal Church. Upon her arrival to Baltimore, Beulah joined Faith Baptist Church. She was a member of the Sunday School, Junior Choir and the Baptist Young Peoples Union.
B.J. received her education from the Baltimore City Public Schools Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School and graduated in 1951 from Carver Vocational High School.
On January 14, 1959, she was united in Holy Matrimony to William Henry Jones. This union blessed them with a daughter, Denise Jones Robinson; in addition to their blended family were daughters, Carolyn(deceased), Jennifer and son Christopher Jones.
Beulah held many jobs as a seamstress retiring from Misty Harbor and later for Baltimore City Public Schools as a Paraprofessional, retiring in 1995. B.J. was a quiet person, never missing a day from school or work. Some of her favorite things to do were reading, making ice cream, baking, gardening and being an avid bowler at Lafayette Bowling Alley. Most of all she enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted daughter; Denise Jones Robinson(Edward), Jennifer Jones, Christopher Jones(Son), grandchildren, Damian L. Jones(Tracey), Tamika D. Kittrell(Dwight), great-grandchildren; Damian Jr. Tynairra, Taije, Ty'Shera, Tybria, Bryan, Brandyn, Bobbi, Sky, Jeffrey, Jewon, Jazz, Russell, Eniya, Dash soon to come; special niece, Keisha Harris-Woods(Nate), Ruth Fenwick; nephews, Wilbert Jr., Devin Harris, sister-in-law, Valter Richardson, a special cousin, Ella Simmons, godchildren, Gerlean Pressley, Roslyn brown, Edrick Brown; along with her adopted families the Addison's and Gilliam's and a host of cousins, friends and family.
