Betty Mae Drumgoole

BETTY MAE DRUMGOOLE on Monday, December 15, 2025, the Lord called home his faithful servant, Betty, at the radiant age of 87, surrounded by the love of four generations. As she entered eternal rest at the hospital in Baltimore, MD, her family by her side, our cherished memories of her boundless love and spirit will forever remain. Betty's journey began on March 15, 1938, in Edgecombe County, NC, where she was born to William Roberson and Mary Grimes.

Raised by her grandparents on a farm in Tarboro, NC, she cultivated the values of hard work and compassion. In 1953, Betty embarked on a new chapter, moving to Baltimore, MD, with her aunt Carrie, in pursuit of a brighter future. There, she met her beloved husband, Eugene Drumgoole and together they had six remarkable children, each sucessful in their own right. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Betty served diligently as a custodial worker at Baltimore City Hospital, under the umbrella of Baltimore City Public Schools, until her well-deserved retirement. Her quiet moments were filled with the joy of westerns, game shows and puzzle books. Yet, her greatest delight was in sharing moments with family and attending family dinners and going to her favorite diner where love and laughter flowed freely.

Her faith was the guiding light of her life, touching every soul she met with kindness and compassion. As a devoted member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church for 14 years, under the spiritual leadership of Presiding Pastor Johnnie E. Boyd, Betty's love for God was palpable in her actions and words. Her unwavering commitment to her faith inspired many, and her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched. With a heart full of love and grace, Betty welcomed everyone with open arms, offering words of encouragement and prayers in times of need. She is survived by four daughters, Janice Robinson, Linda Drumgoole, Shelia Drumgoole and Romina Walker; two sons, Lawrence Drumgoole and Eugene Drumgoole, who preceded her in death; one daughter-in-law, Andrea Drumgoole; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four brothers; four sisters; one sister-in-law, Erma Grimes; a niece, Towanda Jennings, who was like a daughter to her and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Though words cannot capture the depth of our loss, we find solace in knowing she now rests in the presence of her Savior, her fight of faith well won. To our mother, Betty Mae Drumgoole, we honor your legacy of love, strength and devotion. Your impact on our lives is indelible and we are forever grateful to have had you in our lives. Thank you for being the embodiment of love and faith. We love you forever, rest in peace. The family extend heartfelt gratitude to all who have celebrated Betty's life and offered condolences during this time.
