BETTY ANN BELL was born on March 21, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland to James Henry Reed and Mildred Albert Reed. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Carver Vocational Technical High School. Betty married the love of her life, Daniel Bell Jr., who preceded her in death in 1981. During their union Daniel and Betty built a family and welcomed five children; Daniel, Andre, Karen, Boris and Sharon.

Her working life was filled with meaningful connections to the Baltimore community. Betty began her career as Teacher's Aide working at Madison Square Elementary School. Betty became a familiar and beloved presence throughout Baltimore's Historic Old Town Mall, where she worked 35 years at Kaufman's Department Store as a Credit Manager.

Bertty was a phenomenal woman with her effortless beauty, a remarkable sense of style, and her thoughtful intellect. Betty had little patience for pettiness or things that simply did not matter. When something was consuming too much energy, she had a way of putting it all back into perspective with a simple, "That's no biggie." She understood that life was too precious to allow small or irrelevant things to steal your joy.

Betty's love for the Lord was an important part of her spiritual life. As a longtime member of New Psalmist Baptist Church, Sunday worship, visiting other churches, and church events brought her great happiness. Betty really knew how to ENJOY LIFE.

Betty's greatest joy was her family. She adored her children more than anything and enjoyed every moment spent with them. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her beloved "11:11, " as she had 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. They held a special place in her heart reserved only for them. Betty would have sleepovers at her house with all grandchildren and never missed the opportunity to support them in anyway. From plays, dance recitals, school ceremonies, Grandma Betty would be there to let them know just how proud she was of whatever they had accomplished.

Preceded her in death: her parents, James and Mildred Reed; her husband, Daniel Bell, Jr,; 4 brothers, James Reed, William Reed, Eugene Reed and Michael Reed; and 1 granddaughter, Danielle Hosley.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory; her remaining siblings Ralph Reed, Barbara Reed, Donald Reed and Janice Reed; her loving children Daniel Bell, Andre Bell (Daughter-in-law Angela), Karen Bell, Boris Bell, and Sharon Bell; her grandchildren Karen Dickerson (Corey), Shana Bell, Daniel Bell, Jasmine Bell, Andrea Miller (Devon), Shernay Bell, Shantell Bell, Shawn Bell, Anthony Venable and Aaron Bell; her great-grandchildren Nicquel, Taria, Corey, Khalil, Amir, Anton, Avery, Eden, David, Nora and Kairi; and a host of extended family members, loved ones and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
