Barbara (Stokes) Duvall, aectionately known as "Red", was born into a loving family on July 7, 1939 to the late Booker T. and Marguerite Stokes in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was the oldest of four daughters. With her family by her side, on March 11, 2018, at Season Hospice she accepted the Lord's call to come home.

At an early age her parents brought her to Baltimore, Maryland where she was educated. Barbara graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. She accepted Christ and was baptized. Barbara met and married Gene Duvall on April 30, 1960. The most important things to her were her faith and family. She was a loyal employee for 42 years at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Barbara not only enjoyed cooking, she had the reputation as one of Baltimore superb cooks. Family and friends loved to sit at her table for a feast. She, also enjoyed going on or giving trips to the casino. Trips she sponsored had great food and fun on the bus.

Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Clarissa (Peaches) Grier.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Gene Duvall; son, Gerald Stokes; daughter, Barbara Dix (Herman) and son, Eric Duvall; seven grandchildren, Shenicka Duvall, Shanell Duvall, Eric Duvall, JR, Dominique Dickens, Ericka Duvall, Kayla Stokes and Terrell Woody; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Long and Alne Mitchel and a host of family and friends.
