Anthony L. Watkins, better known as Skyie Blue, son of the late Isham O. and Cornelia A. Watkins, was born on February 29, 1953 in Baltimore, MD. On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, God’s merciful hands stilled the heart and relieved the pain of our beloved father; grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Skyie Blue graduated from Dunbar High School in East Baltimore, MD. After graduation he joined the Navy and was honorably discharged. He then went to work for the City of Baltimore in the Department of Parks and Recreation as a Recreation Director where he became widely known and well loved as Skyie Blue.
Skyie Blue touched and changed the lives of many many people of all ages and backgrounds. He truly loved his job and the children he worked with on a daily basis and that love was reciprocated. Many can recall that beautiful wide smile, no nonsense demeanor, and giving spirit. Skyie Blue was loved and cherished by many especially by his son, Kareem A. Watkins, grandchildren, family, and all who crossed his path.
Anthony’s death will be deeply felt by many, but those whom the loss is more vivid; include his son, Kareem Antonio Watkins, Sr., grandchildren Naije, Kiarra (Billy), Keshaun, Kaliah (Sunshine), Kareem Jr., Kamiyah, Kahron, Khalil, Kharlie (Margaret). Sykie Blue was preceded in death by his daughter, Atiya Denise Watkins, his brothers James and Vernon, and his sister Vanessa.
