ANNIE MAE DAWSON TUCKER, was born in Berkley, South Carolina to Rachel Dawson and Joseph Stretch on November 13, 1929. In May 1936, Annie's mother moved to Baltimore to live with her brother, Robert Dawson and to get medical treatment from Johns Hopkins Hospital for Annie.

On February 7, 1947, Annie married the love of her life, Guy Tucker. From this union 5 children were born, Beverly, Guy Jr., Akkra, Gwendolyn(Princess) and David. She was married to the love of her life until widowed in 1967.

Annie attended Dunbar High School. She later attended and graduated from Angelos School of Cosmetology with a manager's license and worked as a cosmetologist until 1961. Annie was employed by the Baltimore City Public Schools as a teacher's assistant from 1968-1998. While employed with Baltimore City, she earned her associates degree from The Community College of Baltimore. After retirement from Harford Heights Elementary School in 1998, she volunteered with the Foster Grandparent Program where she worked at Kennedy Krieger Institute in the Neuropsychology Department.

Annie was an avid sports fan. She loved all sports, especially her home teams, the O's and the Colts and later the Ravens. On game day, you could always find her in team attire cheering and sometimes yelling for the home team.

Annie is survived by her sibling and his spouse William and Gwen VanWright, cousin and best friend Evelyn McCants, 4 children, Guy Jr., Akkra, Gwendolyn and David, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Paylor.
