Anna M. Parrish

Anna Mae Parrish was born on December 31,1948 to the late Mabel Grant and the late James Robert Williamson. Anna transitioned into glory on January 14, 2022 after a long courageous battle with an illness.

Anna received her education in the Baltimore City Public school system and was a proud graduate of Frederick Douglass High School. Upon completion of high school, Anna worked various jobs including tax preparer, caregiver of adults and hospital aide until her eventual career as a registered respiratory therapist. Anna furthered her education and completed an Associates of Arts degree in Respiratory Therapy from Baltimore City Community College. She worked a full time job, was a part time student all while raising and supporting her son through college. Anna considered her career as a registered respiratory therapist as one of her greatest accomplishments.

She worked as a certified registered respiratory therapist for over 40 yrs. at various hospitals and facilities including Church Home hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Levindale nursing home. During her career, she held supervisory positions, trained and mentored many new registered respiratory therapists.

Anna met Robert A. Parrish Sr., at Church Home Hospital, they were later married and from this union, her one and only child “her baby boy”, Robert A Parrish Jr was born. Anna was a devout, faithful Christian for God and washed in the blood of Christ. She loved talking to her friends about the Lord and “how good God has been to her”. She loved to read the Bible. She loved to research biblical and African history. She enjoyed listening to gospel and R&B music. She was a movie buff, especially enjoying Nigerian and horror movies.

Anna’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, friends, and especially with her son and grand-children, who she absolutely adored and spoiled rotten. Anna was a very caring, loving, patient, humble, forgiving, compassionate, insightful, wise and God fearing person. Her presence and spirit will truly be missed by the many lives she touched.

Anna leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted son, Robert Jr.; daughter in-law, Tammie; brothers, James Jr. and Miles; sisters,Gwen, Doretha, and Mary; grandchildren, Khafre, Robert III, Brandyn, and Jeanna and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
