ANDRE THOMPSON, affectionately known as "Arnie", departed this world on January 9, 2026, after a courageous and extended battle with cancer.
Andre was born on July 23, 1961 to James Thompson Sr. and the late Barbara Thompson, who preceded him in death. He received his education through Baltimore City Public Schools. He later coached youth football and ventured into the catering world, his talents included cooking and being a top notch, thrash-talking bartender who could work a room like no other.
To know Andre was to know that he was never bothered by technology. He never hesitated to pull out his outdated flip phone or carry around a bag full of papers covered in his own handwritten notes. Andre was a loving and caring family man who was always willing to lend a hand or step in and protect anyone who needed help. His charisma was undeniable, and people were naturally drawn to him.
Andre was a true straight shooter who never had trouble telling you exactly what was on his mind. He was boisterous or what some might call LOUD full of energy, high-spirited and unapologetically himself. Beneath that big personality was a heart of gold, and he was an exceptional grandfather who adored his family.
Andre is preceded in death by his mother Barbara Thompson. He is survived by his father, James Thompson Sr.; his two children, Latasha and Starr; three grandchildren, Ta'Ana, Ta'lon and Ta'Lynn; five brothers, James Jr., "Tito", Lee Verne "Apple", Samuel "Keith", Gerald (Deborah) and Clarence "Son Son" (Adrian); one niece Sabrina; three nephews, Dontavis, Greg and Malik; four aunts Connie Bell, Betty Jean (Leroy), Bernadine (King) and Delaine (Bobby); girlfriend Wanda "Gail"; forever friend Terry Moore; and a host of loving cousins and friends.
