On January 26, 1957 a beautiful girl named Alice Laverne Morris-Roberts was born to Marvis Morris and the late William Morris. God went to his garden and picked a beautiful rose flower and took her home to glory on October 20, 2015.
Alice was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System.

Alice accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the Life Celebration Center under the leadership of Bishop Michael D. Hannah, Sr., DD. She later joined Dr. Aaron W. Hannah, Sr. at their South Church location and was an active member until the Lord called her home.
Alice met and married George Roberts who preceded her in death. She later married Maurice Swan.
Alice known by many as "Laverne" was a caring, loving and wonderful mother. Nothing was more important than her children and grandchildren.
Laverne loved cooking and entertaining family and
friends. No one was a stranger in her presence and she accepted everyone making sure they were taken care of. She was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Laverne had a great zest for life and fought very hard. She was always giving words of wisdom. She was a woman of strong faith and believed in the power of prayer.
She loved her mother and all of her sisters and brothers. Laverne loved and cared for her brother Andre as if he was her own. Also, she shared a special sisterhood with her cousin.
