Alice E Purviance daughter of the late Hurman and Lillian Griffin was born July 23, 1934, in Baltimore Maryland.

Alice received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School where she obtained her high school diploma.

She was a hard and dedicated worker and loved her job tremendously as a secretary at the Baltimore City Health Department's school health division. You would often find her answering the phone with her sweet voice or talking about her favorite coworkers Jane and Cheryl Savage.

Alice was a devoted wife to her husband, Melvin Purviance. She was also a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was known to be the life of the party, and she would always throw parties and gatherings that would warm your heart and spirit.

During her later years, Alice enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows such as The Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Westerns. She also loved doing her puzzle books day in and day out.

Alice was devoted to her faith and had a deep love and passion for her Lord and Savior and her church the Zion Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an Usher to a Pastor's Aide.

Alice was a prayer warrior that knew the importance of prayer but most importantly knew how to get a prayer through. Daily you would often find her sitting on the side of the bed calling names out In prayer one by one and when she was done she never forget to call out her Pastor ( Dr. Prentice), her honorary Pastor( Overseer Lamont ) and her Bishop ( Marcus Johnson) all who she loved dearly.

On Wednesday, December 4, 2024  Alice peacefully transitioned into the loving arms of her Father surrounded by family at her bedside.

" I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course. I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7.
