AGNES JUA SOMAH GALLMAN-CAMAH was born on March 21, 1956 to Mary Clay Davis and Francis Camah. She grew up in Monrovia, Liberia where she was fondly known as Jua. Agnes had four brothers and three sisters. As a child, Agnes loved spending time with her grandma and her siblings. She attended boarding school and always dreamed big. In the 19701's, Agnes moved to Washington, D.C. with her cousin and family. Before moving to America, Agnes gave birth to her eldest child, Michelle.
In the 1980's Agnes got married, moved to Baltimore, MD. had three kids and worked for Abrams, Foster, Noels and Williams C.P.A. (AFNW) where she spent nearly 20 years in the IT department.
Agnes continued her education earning an associate degree from Baltimore Community College and a bachelor's degree from the University of Baltimore while working and raising her children. In 2003, she married her high school sweetheart, Michael and shortly after moved to New Jersey. Agnes would spend the next 20 years working in Manhattan, NY at the New York Finance Housing Agency in IT. She had planned to retire later this year.
Agnes was a devout catholic, who enjoyed music, shopping, time with her children, following politics, watching the food network, and cooking. Agnes had a smile that could brighten up a room and a fierce spirit.
After a two-year battle with cancer, Agnes passed away on March 10, 2024 in Baltimore, MD. Agnes is survived by her husband, Michael Camah, her children, Michelle, Binta, Jamila and Jamin, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
