Eloise Renne Woodley was born on November 20, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Albert V. Woodley, Sr. (of Lawrenceville, Virginia) and Cora B. Woodley (of Brodnax, Virginia). She was the middle daughter of 3. At the age of 65 Eloise departed this life peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on February, 20, 2023. “
Loise” (as she was affectionately called by loved ones) received her education in Baltimore City Public Schools. In her earlier years she worked as an Administrative Secretary, and also gained employment at Sears Robuck & Co. Above any “job”, one she was most proud of was assisting in raising her grandchildren. If you saw Eloise you most likely saw Tai’Lar, Lil P-Nutt (Boy’a as she called him), or Avion at her hip. One thing we all know she did not play about was any of her grand (or great grand) children.
For many years, Eloise frequented and was a member of New David Baptist Church located at 1401-15 N. Milton Ave. Here she volunteered to help others less fortunate, and on many occasions enjoyed taking her grandchildren to church functions and “the kids closet” (when it was once housed there). She had a heart of gold and took pride in caring for her grandchildren (both natural and informally adopted grandchildren). She would often give up last to anyone in need. Whether it be her last dollar, or her last cigarette if she could help you, she would do just that. She was always looking out for her neighbors of “Milton Ave.”
Eloise loved herself some scratch offs (BINGO was her favorite). She enjoyed sharing great memories at family or friends’ gatherings over food, fun and laughter. She was a caring, no bs type of woman who once she got to know and like you, you knew you’d always have someone you can call on.
Eloise was preceded in death by her father Albert V. Woodley; her mother Cora B. Woodley; and two sisters Sarah M. Butcher (aka Maxine), and Darlene P. Woodley.
She leaves to cherish her memories: 2 sons, Albert A. Woodley Sr (aka P-Nutt) and Darryl M. Woodley. 6 Grandchildren: Albert A. Woodley Jr. (aka Lil Nutt or Boy’a), Tai’Lar N. Woodley, Asia A. Woodley, Anyshia A. Woodley (aka Ma’Ma), Avion C. Woodley, and Darryl M. Woodley Jr. 1 Great Grandson: Caleb M. Newby. Cousin: Deneice Yarborough (aka Reds; whom she shared a sisterly bond with). She also leaves to mourn a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, adopted family, friends, and neighbors.
