VONZETTA VONDERLIA LOMAX was born on November 21, 1950, to the late Paul Louis Dent and Viola Mae Johnson and passed suddenly on December 13, 2018, after a lengthy illness.
Vonzetta was affectionately known by family and friends as "Eggie" or "Von" and received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System.
Von loved people and life and was a very outgoing person. Wherever she went, she would often make friends and whenever confronted by opposition, she would keep it real and say, Deal with it!
Von gave her life to Christ at a very early age at the new Mount Zion Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Reverend Daniel L. Ball, pastor. She was a joyful and loving person with an infectious smile that would radiate an room she stepped in. Von had a love for children so much, so she took classes and became certified as a foster parent to many. Von also took classes in nursing to help where she could and further worked odd jobs to make ends meet. She was just that determined! She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was her life, however, some situations in Von' life she had no control over but would leave it in the hands of the Lord and often one could hear her saying, "God has this"Family and friends will greatly miss her.
Von leaves to cherish her memory, son Anthony Johnson Sr. (wife, Jacqueline); two daughters, Annette and Reshea Lowery; four brothers, Stanley, Lawrence, Ralph and Jeffrey Johnson; four sisters, Minister Marie Shelton (husband, Ronald Shelton, Sr), Patricia, Valerie and Janet Johnson; a devoted friend Oscar Vines and one sister-in-law, Shirley Butler; ten grandchildren, Shavonda, Janea, Davone and Anthony Johnson Jr., Antwon Williams, Antonio Brown, Andrea, Amaya and Jerome Lowery, Altonia and Ramone Manley; nine great-grandchildren, Maqui Jones, Jayden, London, King and Altonia Manley IV, Anthony, Jaleia and Rahniya Williams and Ava Lowery along with a host of family and friends.
