Welcome to the memorial page for

Varnette D. Carr

February 19, 1963 ~ October 1, 2017 (age 54) 54 Years Old

Lord you have put a new song in her mouth, even praise unto her God. We have accepted you Lord calling your beloved daughter, Varnette Darlene (Prideaux) Carr, home during the noon day sun on Sunday, October 1, 2017. What we see as an unexpected departure from this earthly life was just your way of saying "Varnette, your race has been won, your course here on earth is done and now it's time to take your crown".

Varnette, the second child of the late Varner and Ruby Prideaux was born on February 19, 1963. She received her education through the Baltimore City School System. Varnette went on to achieve an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies from the North Carolina College of Theology.

Varnette married her high school sweetheart, Francisco C. Carr, Sr., taking to heart her vow of until death separate us. They were married 35 years this past January 2017. From their union, three children were born; Francisco C. Carr, Jr., Lynere Reames and Desiree Carr. Varnette's love for her family was evident by all who knew her as she often took the second step placing her family on the first step.

Varnette was introduced to Christ and his church at a tender age as her mother believed in giving her children a solid Christian foundation. As a child, Varnette attended Trinity Apostolic Faith Holiness Church under the leadership of the late Lois C. Grant where she was a member of the LGG Children' s Choir, among other activities. Later in her adult years, she joined Blessed Trinity Church of Deliverance where her mother was the founder and Pastor. She faithfully served in this ministry until her mother went home to be with the Lord. Varnette then joined Remnant of God Deliverance Ministry as one of the founding members under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Karen L. Thompson. Through her years, Varnette has acquired an extensive church resume serving in various capacities (Music Ministry, Culinary Ministry, Usher Board, Trustee Board, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth Ministry, Varnette gave herself unselfishly to service in the Kingdom of God.

Varnette had a special love for children and children responded by being drawn to her. She could be found spending hours in her Sunday School classroom decorating and making it child attractive. To her many children, she was Minister V.

Varnette was preceded in death by her parents (Varner and Ruby Prideaux) her brother (Rickey Henry) and her granddaughter (Briana Carr). She leaves to cherish her fond memories her loving husband Francisco; her three children, Francisco, Jr., Lynere Reames (Dyrell) and Desiree; her four grandchildren, Byron, Aniya, Kayden and Danni; her sister, Renee Prideaux; her "special love" her Gernan Shepherd Jazz and a host of in-laws, aunts, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
