On Tuesday August 13th 2019 at 7:40am the Lord answered the call of our precious Thomasina Hill.
Thomasina Hill was born on March 13, 1939 to the late Thomas and Beatrice Bradley in Sumter, South Carolina. She was the eldest of six children. She received her formal education in the South Carolina school system. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Grant Hill Baptist Church, in Sumter County. She met and married Mackey Brisbon Jr. in October, 1957 and the couple migrated to New York City to start their lives together. From this union three children were born into the world.
In 1965, she moved to Baltimore, MD which began a new chapter for her and her children. A few years later she met Judge Henley and from their union one child was born. Many years later, she met and married the late John Joe Hill in July 1991.
While living out her life in Baltimore, She became an active member of New Pilgrim Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member of the Flower Circle Ministry, Missionary Board, and served as the head chef for many, many years. She must have baked and fried over a million chickens. She was a leader amongest her peers. She feed the church spiritually and physically as directed through the Holy Spirit. She was an example to community members and all she encountered. Thomasina was robust and authentic in her works. She walked in faith and shared with others as often as she could. She was a woman whose actions were just as powerful as her words.
In addition to having a strong faith in God, she was dedicated to her family. She was the glue that kept her entire family together. During her final days, she continued to emphasize the importance of keeping the family unit together. Thomasina Hill was a strong advocate for education and believed it was the key to a better future.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her siblings Carola “Shirley” (Harry), Willie “Pete” (Robin), Charles (Doris), and Rosa, her eldest son Kevin (Greta), only daughter Tammy (Graham), grandchildren, Donald, Tammy (Darrin), Derek, Jamie, Jacoby “Nita”, and Genai, 9 Great Grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and family friends. Preceded her in death sons Anthony Lamont Henley and Tyrone Brisbon. Also preceding her in death sister Gladys Sadler.
