THERESA "ROXIE" BAKER, was born September 16, 1940 to _______ Hargrove and Pauline Hargrove in Richmond, Virginia, where she attended Carver Elementary School. They later moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1955 where she attended Baltimore City Public Schools.
She later met and married, Albert Baker who preceded her in death in 1977.
She was employed with Baltimore City Public School System for 38 years before retiring.
Roxie loved to travel. When the bus left St. Francis she was on it visiting many Tropical Islands while cruising with family and friends. She was an avid Steelers fan and loved picking on her nephews during football season. She loved to play cards, sip on Crown Royal and dance the night away. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and let no grass grow under her feet. On Sunday's back in the day she very much enjoyed being with family down her mom's house.
Roxie loved the Lord more than anything else. She worshiped at St. Francis Xavier and participated in various organizations. She was an original member of the St. Francis Gospel Choir, a member of The Catholic Daughters Court 225, a member of The Sodality of Our Lady, a member of the Sun Rise Choir and former member of The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary.
Sadly, she was called home on February 13, 2018, leaving her five children: her son Michael, Janice, Alice, Lydia, Cecelia, Deborah and goddaughter Ashley. Her siblings; brothers Samuel and William Hargrove (who preceded her in death), her sisters Rebecca Ramsey (who preceded her in death), Blanche Anderson, Pauline Hargrove and Mary Cobb. Her grandchildren; Keisha, Mike, Michael, Miquel, Wayne, Joseph, Kiara. And a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
