Robert Stancil Obituary

ROBERT R. STANCIL, affectionately known by family and friends as "Rob" was the son of the late Tinnie and Robert E. Stancil. He was born on October 13, 1940 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Robert was called to his eternal home on Saturday March 24, 2018.

Robert received his early education in the Richmond County Schools of North Carolina and completed his education in the Baltimore City Public City School System.

After completion of school Rob had relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, there he began dating the love of his life, Bertha L. Stancil. They were united in Holy Matrimony and from this union they were blessed with one child (preceded in death) Saundra Solomon of which they nurtured with unconditional love.

During the course of his life Rob held many positions. He was employed with the Sun Cab Company as a driver/dispatcher for many years prior to his retirement.

"To Know Him Was To Love Him and if you didn't Know he would tell you"...He was affectionately known as "Rob to many". He was one with an infectious smile, a natural gift of gab and an engaging conversationalist. he made numerous friends wherever he went. Rob could-and-would talk to anyone. He enjoyed the company of many friends in his neighborhood. During gatherings he was known for his humor and quick wit. He was always making everyone laugh. Always had a joke to tell or make a joke out of all serious situations...(life is to short not to smile or laugh). He was full of life and laughter, Rob always had various information to share with his family and fiends. He loved his family and loved being with family an friends as it was his very being.

Rob was a no tolerance person to disrespect. If there was any inkling of disrespect you suffered the raft of him. In spite of his witty spirit, he was very outspoken and no  nonsense. There definitely was the serious side to him. He would always tell the truth whether you agreed or not no if ands about it. He had a compassionate heart as he was always thinking about others. Rob loved to "Party" really, really party. No grass was growing under his feet. When it was his time to shine "Mr. Clean from head to toe...nice cologne looking dapper in his clothing and fine jewelry. Rob also loved watching sports, playing the lottery, a good card game and going to the casino when he had the time. He also enjoyed listening to music and watching his favorite shows of yesterday.

On Saturday, March 24, 2018 Rob suddenly departed this life and God, in his infinite wisdom dispatched an angel and closed the "Book of Life on Robert R. Stancil" to depart from his earthly body to be present with his Heavenly Father. Rob peacefully bid us farewell, and the angels took him up in the wind and escorted him safely home where our Heavenly father welcomed him with open arms. Rob has transitioned from labor to reward.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving children, two daughters, Tara Wilson and Robin Stancil; four son, Robert Bond, Maurice Wilson, Michael Wilson and Michael Leake; one sister, Mildred Lee, one brother-in-law, Donald Lee; six grandchildren, Donshay Jones, Dontavia Ward, Don Jones, Shamar Taylor, Charkesha Solomon; and (preceded in death) Donyae Jones; two Godchildren, Tovon Pannell and Towanda;and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends that loved him dearly. He will be tremendously missed by the many people whose lives he touched. We will miss Rob's smile and laughter...gone but not forgotten.
