Robert Redfearn Sr. Obituary

In the cool of the evening, on June 6, 2018, God called our beloved husband, father, son, grandfather and friend, Robert Redfearn home.

ROBERT LEE REDFEARN was born February 18, 1925 was the eighth child born to Thomas Edward and Hattie Redfearn in Chesterfield, SC. From his parent's union, 18 children were born in which 11 survived. Robert and his siblings worked on his parent's farm until he turned 20.

At the age of 21, Robert met his first wife, Esther Mae and of this union five children were born; Robert Jr., Charles, Craig, Bobby and Jennifer. Esther Mae proceeded him in death.

In 1950, Robert relocated to Baltimore, MD with his older brother and began employment with Bethlehem Steel Co. He was baptized under the leadership of Bishop Ruth Allen. Being a dedicated and faithful member, he was ordained a deacon. He loved praying and praising the lord. In 1983, he met his second wife Sallie who also preceded him in death. After retiring in 1988, he took on a part time job at Bowie State University. He there met his "Vivacious" and "dedicated" wife Barbara Harvey. She was truly his soul mate. They were married August 3, 1991. Barbara had one daughter and four granddaughters who all admired him and Robert loved the girls. He showered them with so much love and affection. He quickly became known as Papa. There was no greater love other than the love God shows between him and the girls. Breonne, the oldest of the girls was dedicated to her Papa. "Bre" as he affectionally nicknamed her stuck by him throughout the good and hard times. She ensured he had everything he needed, kept his doctor's appointments schedule, and whatever he needed she was there. She truly was his biggest supporter, his best fan, one of his best friends.

In addition to his parents and first two wives he was also preceded in death by his four sons Roberts Jr., Charles, Gregory and Bobby.

Robert leaves fond memories to his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Jennifer and Kimberly; one sister, Lessie Ruth Redfearn; seven grandchildren, PJ, Bridgett, Tiffany, Breonne, Bri-Shae, Bry-Nia and Brooke; a host of nieces and nephews and his longtime friend of over 50 years Al Howell.
