Norman Newell Dahl, was born on August 27, 1931 in Massachusetts, Maine to the late Charles and Frances Dahl. After a long illness, Norman answered God’s call early Thursday morning on March 8, 2018. Norman attended school in the Portland, Maine public school system, received his Bachelor of Science degree and Master’s Degree from Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts. Norman worked at Fairchild aircraft in Hagerstown, Maryland and as a Mechanical Engineer for the City of Baltimore Department of Recreation and Parks. Norman was very crafty, he enjoyed working on cars, fixing and repairing anything. Though not a member of a church, Norman accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was a proud Marine and wanted everyone to know it and always repeating the Marine Motto Semper Fidelis (“Always Faithful”) . Norman was bedridden for about ten years but never complained. As long as he had his television shows, snacks and fast foods, he was satisfied. Watching the History and Military channels were his favorite; but the Jerry Springer Show kept him in stitches. He was a true historian and loved to understand the origin of how things were made and why they were given certain names. After a very long courtship, on March 15, 2006 Norman married his best friend, partner and love of his life, Jean. Together they spent hours of sharing, laughing, having fun and eating. As they continued to grow together, Norman began to face some health challenges. As he faced many, many challenges, Jean became a devoted, faithful and committed care-giver until God called him home. Norman leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his faithful and loving wife, Jean, one brother, Charles (Maggie), mother-in-law, Geneva K. Smith., nieces, nephews and other relatives. I’m Free Don't grieve for me, for now
