Larry Maxwell was born on December 29, 1947 to the late Ellen L. Bryan and Samuel L. Maxwell. After a lengthy illness he was called to glory on June 8, 2018.
Larry was raised in Sparta, North Carolina by his late grandparents Leonard and Mamie Bryan, Pop Paw and Mom Maw as he called them. He received his education in Alleghany County Public School System in Sparta, North Carolina.
When Larry was a young man he worked on his grandparents farm. Later in life Larry relocated to Maryland, where he made Baltimore his permanent home. While living in Maryland, Larry held various jobs in the medical field. He found his passion in home improvement. He specialized in drywalling. Larry titled himself as “THE BEST DRYWALLOLOGIST”.
Larry enjoyed playing his guitar and promoting live music entertainment. He managed three bands named U.S.B., Eastwind, and Family. He mostly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In 1994 Larry met Tammy Brown and on July 17, 2004 they were wed. Then ten years later in 2014 they renewed their vows. Out of this union one child was born.
Preceding him in death are his brother Keith, sister Roxann, daughter Darlene and two best friends Randolph and Marvin.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Tammy; two sons Larry (Tonya) and Edgar (Shavon); one daughter, Gaynell; step-dad, Ernest (City); mother-in-law, Mary; father-in-law Russell; two brothers, James (Juanita) and Michael (Phyllis); one sister, Deborah (Andre); brother-in-law, Ray; sister in-law, Danielle; grandmother in-law, Jessie Brown; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
