Jesse Williams Jr. Obituary

JESSIE WILLIAMS, JR. was born March 11, 1941 to the late Elnora and Jesse Williams, Sr. in Littleton, North Carolina. He was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 18, 2019.

He was affectionately known by family and friends as the great storyteller, the carpenter, the mechanic, the cook and the dancer. He received his early education in the public schools of Littleton, North Carolina with his nine siblings. Jesse, Jr. accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age at Lee's Chapel Church in Littleton, North Carolina. He relocated to Baltimore, Maryland during the late 1950's.

As a young man, he met and married Joyce Williams and from that union two daughters were born; Joyce and Darlene. He also had one daughter that preceded him in death; Roxanne Lightly. He later met and remained in companionship with Ms. Wilma Bailey; they enjoyed the beauty of a blended family with love and pride shared with their children and grandchildren.

Jesse was gainfully employed throughout the State of Maryland. Upon his retirement from Abacus Corporation; he enjoyed fishing, visting family members, caring for the sick, tinkering with his cars and shootin the breeze on the phone with family and his buddies. "Jesse, Jr." as many relatives and friends affectionately called him was known for being meticulous about his wardrobe; complete with a smoking pipe in hand. He also had a great interest in cars and loved quartet and oldies music. He made sure he attended family gatherings and was sure to appear with joy as he witnessed the growth of the Williams Family. His words were "Lord, would you look a here."

He leaves to cherish his memories; Joyce Williams; two daughters, Joyce and Darlene; one bother, Lemuel Williams (Baltimore, Maryland), his loving companion; Ms. Wilma Bailey, one sister-in-law; Hazel Williams, one brother-in-law; John Alston; a special friend Mr. Herman Rowlett of Smithfield, VA. and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
