GERALDINE ELEANOR FLESHMAN was born on September 17th, 1933 in Baltimore, MD from the union of Irvin and Christine Johnson. She grew up in Baltimore with her sisters Grace and Beulah in a loving community of family and friends. She graduated from Dunbar High School where she met the love of her life, her husband of 64 years, Nathaniel Fleshman. They relocated to NewYork City and had three children, Cynthia, Wayne and Anthony. 

They purchased a home in Jamaica, NY where they raised their family and shared many years of happiness. Geraldine worked at Gertz Department Store and later worked in the accounting department at Butterick Pattern until she retired. She attended classes, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from York College.

Geraldine enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid bowler. She loved sewing, knitting and fashion. She participated in several fashion shows in which she made and modeled her original designs. She was active in the North Star Civic Association, where she held multiple positions including Vice President and Treasurer. She organized fund raising events, sponsored and chaperoned trips for children in the neighborhood and addressed the concerns of the homeowners in the community.  

As a faithful believer of Christ Jesus, Geraldine devoted her time to the needs of others. She volunteered at the Rochdale Senior Center where she was Director of the Scooter Club for the disabled, assisted with Arts and Crafts and exercise programs. She was a member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Adult Ministry and Senior Praise Dancers.

Geraldine's kindness and caring knew no bounds. She always had a kind word, an encouraging word, a smile and a loving embrace for everyone. If you had her as friend you were truly blessed. To know her, was to love her.

Geraldine departed this life on November 19th, 2017. She is survived by her husband Nathaniel, children Cynthia, Wayne and Anthony, her son-in-law, Ronald daughter-in-law Donna, grandchildren Rashida (Kevin), Hassan, Kemra. Venus (William), great grandchildren Brooklyn, Blake and Elise, sisters Grace Washington and Beulah Keating and a host of family and friends.

She loved and was well loved! We will always love your Gerri!
