On July 27, 1940 God sent us a blessing from above. Our precious ETHEL MAE WASHINGTON,  born to the late Laura Alice Watson and Willie Watson in Halifax, North Carolina. The Lord called Ethel Mae Washington home on August 17, 2017.

Ethel received her education in North Carolina. She came to Maryland at 19 years of age. She worked at Sinai Hospital then got a job at St. Joseph Hospital where she remained employed for 40 years and retired as an RN. She was a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church.

Ethel, better known as Ethel Mae, was a very affectionate, loving soul who had a smile at exemplified the beauty which she possessed inside and out. She was always very pleasant and kind and made many friends wherever she went.

She leaves behind a daughter, Valerie; two sons, John Jr. and Donnell Washington; grandchildren, Brittany Clarke and Dione; her great grandchildren, Diamond, Denara, Allen and Anila; she also leaves her sisters, Minnie, Dorothy, Eva Mae, Louise, Magaline and Brenda Sue; two brothers, Cornelius and Thurman; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
