Edward Lee Obituary

EDWARD M. LEE, was born the third eldest child to Stiner Ann and Hardee Lee on February 16, 1927 in Clayton County, North Carolina. He moved to Baltimore MD. as a very young child with his parents and four siblings with whom he was raised. A few years later the family would grow with the birth of his two youngest sisters. Edward accepted the call to salvation and as a child he attended Southern Baptist Church with his parents and siblings.

Edward affectionately known as Bo, was educated in the Baltimore City School System, and as a child he loved to play football. He played his favorite sport as a member of his high school team. After graduating from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in 1945, Bo enlisted in the United States Army, where he served approximately 3 years. As a part of his service, he was a Military Policeman stationed in Germany where he continued his love of football playing on teams with his fellow servicemen for leisure time activity. Although he was thousands of miles away, his connection to and love for his siblings was always evident. Bo was given the honor of naming his eldest sister's first-born son and the Lee family's first-born grandchild Adrian Omar who we know today as Butch.

Soon after becoming established in his chosen field of employment, Bo met the love of his life, Doris Mae Johnson. The two married on September 18, 1955 at Faith Baptist Church where the couple continued their Christian discipleship until their health would no longer allow them to attend physically. Of their union was born one daughter, Brenda Theresa Lee-Griffiths on November 3, 1959. She would proceed both her parents in death in early 2018. The Lee family opened their hearts and home to two young family members, Derek and Kevin Saunders who they love reared, nurtured and cared for as their own sons, raising them to adulthood.

Edward leaves to cherish his memory Kevin Saunders (Melissa); three granddaughters, Taja Evans (Carlos), Marissa Griffiths and Madison Saunders; three grandsons, Kevin and Miles Saunders and Austin Griffiths; three great-grandchildren, Chase and Zoe Evans and Benjamin Saunders; two sisters, Lurl Johnson and Doris Adams (Adolphus); god daughters, Pat Williams and Sharon Thorne; god-grandchildren, Lyndsey and Louie Williams; nephew Adrian Lee; nieces, Cheryl Curley, Pamela, Danielle and Viking Lee and a host of other relatives, family and friends.
