DAVID EDWARD JOYCE, second son and fourth child of the late Lawrence A. and E. Ruth (Pitts) Joyce, was born January 14, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland.

David responded to his heavenly Father's call to "Come Home" on October 18, 2017.

David known to family and friends as "Day Day" was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. He graduated from lake Clifton High School. He attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County for 2 years. He worked as a Boy's Counselor for several years before coming to work for The City of Baltimore, Department of Public Works on Haven Street.  

Day Day accepted The Lord Jesus Christ at 12 years old and was baptized into the family of faith at Sharon Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Day Day never married and had no children.

Day Day grew-up in Lafayette Courts where he made numerous lifelong friends. He would go to the McKim's Center to play basketball and wrestle.

Day Day was preceded on his journey by younger sister Paula, older brother Lawrence, Jr., and adopted sister Carolyn Allmond.

Day Day leaves to cherish his life: 2 sisters, Jean Durant and Doris Barnes; nephews, Lawrence (LaToya) Durant, Tavon Thomas, James Dingle and Lee Allmond; nieces, Patria Smith and Lawan Bell; 6 great nieces and 7 great nephews; Lafayette Projects Committee, McKim's Center, friends and other relatives.
