Darrell Antonio Burrell, the beloved son, was born May 22, 1966 in Baltimore, Maryland to Mildred Wilson and the late Dennis Burrell. He quietly slipped away from us and was called into eternal rest on Friday, December 13, 2019.
Darrell known to many as “Silly Rabbit” received his education in Baltimore City Public School graduating from Patterson High School. He later received certifications in Forklift, HVAC Refrigeration and Home Improvement.
He had worked for the City of Baltimore (DPW) for a short period of time in the Water Department. He was good with his hands and running his mouth. Having a conversation with him was like you could not get a word in, especially when he was reminiscing.
Darryl was loyal to his family and friends. He made numerous friends wherever he went for those he could trust. We couldn't begin to name all the friends. You all know who you are, what bond you all shared and the role you played in each other's lives.
Darrell enjoyed sports, watching movies, Basketball, Football, Boxing, Wrestling and going to the Casino. He had a great appreciation for old school music. It was something that brought him peace and relaxation. He also found enjoyment in lifting weights, working out and riding his bike. His favorite words were “if anyone bothers you call and come get me (Darrell)”.
Darrell will be missed. He leaves to cherish and celebrate his memory his loving mother, Mildred Wilson, one Uncle, Howard (Skip) Summerville, two Aunts, Loretta White and Odessa (Dell) Wilson; Nieces, Shakia, Tyrikia, Tych’ana, Leesha, Richanda, and especially Shamira (MeMe) who was like a daughter to him, nephews, DeMarco and Terrell Sr., as well as a host of other great nieces and great nephews, family and friends.
He also leaves to mourn his step-daughter, step daughter Matoya, devoted friend Kim (Mook), a special cousin, Angie (Red Hoop), his close friends Gregory, Vincent, Kelly, Reesee and Shawn. He was preceded in death by one Sister, Rosalind (Woman) Hearn, one Brother, Tyrone (Left Hand Ty) Hearn, Jr. and one Nephew, Tyrone Hearn, III.
Special acknowledgement also to his maternal grandparents, Mildred Summerville-Wilson and Melvin Wilson; aunt Audrey Wilson and uncles, Melvin Wilson, Calvin Wilson and Louis Wilson and great-aunt, Jennie Spencer (all who preceded him in death).
