CARL BENSON WOODARD SR., affectionately known as "Tank"; son of the late Wylie Sr. and Viola Woodard, was born on August 26, 1955. He departed this life suddenly on November 4, 2018. Tank received his education in the Baltimore Public School System. At an early age, Tank worked at George's Corner Store; he started his career at Montebello Brands at the age if 18 and worked there until his death. Tank's co-workers described him as a consistent, dependable and a hard worker who never missed a day. He also owned and operated his own business, Tank's Moving and Hauling.
He will be fondly remembered as fun loving, ready to party and always the first person on the dance floor. Tank will be greatly missed! He was always friendly and helpful to everyone he encountered. he also enjoyed hosting various family events.
Tank was a loving devoted husband, always attentive and caring. After 50 years of being together and 40 years of marriage, Tank and Hannah planned to celebrate their anniversary on November 11. They enjoyed various trips and adventures together. He was a great dad to his two sons and a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren.
Tank leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Hannah and devoted sons, Carl Jr. and Brandon; one daughter-in-law, Shawdae; four grandchildren, Ka'Ron, Carmen, Camille and Ma'at Woodard; two sisters, Geraldine Hanna and Kathy Darden; one brother, Tommy Woodard Sr.; one uncle, Olin D. Westbrook; one sister-in-law Gaylord Rhames; six brother-in-laws, Joseph Bryan Sr., Roy Darden, James, George, Isaac Gaylord and Corey Rhames.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Wylie Jr., Anthony, Bernard, Cornell Woodard and Willie Kirkpatrick; one sister Betty Bryan; and on sister-in-law, Theresa Jenkins.
He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.
