Barbara Ann (Smith) Lightner, Daughter of Arthur Smith and Ethel (Belin) Smith, was Born, November 15, 1946 In Pamplico, South Carolina. Barbara departed this life on October 10, 2018 after a short and unexpected Illness.
“Bobby Ann” or Barbara, as she was affectionately known, spent her childhood years in Pamplico, South Carolina. As a Child/ Teenager she loved to spend time with her classmates (especially Elnora (Jackson) Timmons, Singing during Church events, Attending Sporting events at school and writing for the school newspaper.
Barbara received her education from Gibbs High School in Pamlico, South Carolina (Graduated 1964). She went on to attend from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Barbara was employed by Baltimore City Public School System (40 Years) and Bon Secours Hospital (30 Years).
Barbara was a very caring, generous, kind, and respectful person who loved to laugh. When Barbara wasn’t laughing, she enjoyed spending time with family, talking on the telephone, completing crossword puzzles and playing amusement games.
Barbara was preceded in death by her Brothers Mack Arthur Smith Sr. and Gary Smith.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory: Parents; Arthur and Ethel Smith, Son; Aaron Craig Lightner Sr., Sister; Gloria (Smith) Muldrow. Grand Children; Bret Aaron Flurry- Lightner ; and Aaron Craig Lightner Jr. Aunts Delores Brooks, Regina Belin, Annette Belin, Uncle Charles Belin, Nieces: Gwendolyn McElveen (Derrick) Sherrese Michelle Smith (Ade); Nephew: (Mack Arthur Smith Jr.) Caring Friend and Co- Worker Jane Bittiner and Denise Holmes.
