Andre Pollard Obituary

ANDRE TYRONE POLLARD, the son of Taliaferro E. Thompson and Doris Smith-Clifton, was born March 6, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland. He went home to be with our Lord on April 5, 2019 after a lengthy illness of bladder cancer.

Andre, better known as Dray and/or Egghead, received his education from the Baltimore City Public School System. He worked at "Up To Date Solutions For Healthcare Linens" for years, as well as various other jobs throughout Baltimore.

Andre was the "clown" of the family. He loved telling jokes, teasing his siblings and friends, and doing almost anything to make you laugh and have fun. He kept a clean, shiny bald head! Growing up Andre use to play "Hambone" using his mouth making sounds, his hands, his thighs, and of course...that shiny bald head! At family gatherings he would dance in the middle of the oor just like his late granddaddy Spike, slow and twisted. Andre was hilarious and fun to be around.

Andre also loved to be in the streets! He loved the hustle and grind of the street. Hanging out with friends and strangers a like. He was easy to be around and could talk his way in and out of anything. He formed a number of enduring relationships while hanging out in those streets. His Legacy of Endurance and Never giving up will always be remembered.

During Andre's illness, he accepted the Lord Jesus into his heart as his personal Savior. Everyday he opened his eyes he would say, " I thank Jesus for another day!"

He was preceded in death by his grandparents David and Maybel Pollard, his stepdad Deacon Charles J. Clifton, Jr. and his uncle David "Boodie" Pollard.

Andre has left to cherish his memory, his beloved mother Doris M. Smith-Clifton, his three sisters Pamela Thompson, Corenthia Smith and Nicole Irvin, two brother in-laws, William Irvin and William "Tony" Begett, two children Johnathan and Mariah Pollard, one granddaughter Trinity Williams, his uncle and aunt Kashaka and Sauda Olu Kayode, aunt Gloria Pollard, three nephews Joseph Jones, Antonio Begett and Kenneth Sheppard, Jr, three nieces Gabrielle, Isabella and Ava Irvin, and a host of family and friends.
