G.O.A.T. a.k.a Andre C. Barnhardt "Coach" was born on November 5, 1949 to the late Dorris Viola Barnhardt and Charles Young Sandius in Mecklenburg, NC. He departed his life on May 24, 2018.
He received his education in Baltimore City Elementary Public School. Fredrick Douglass High where he was an honor roll student throughout his high school years. Which gave him the opportunity in 1966 to become part of the first black swim team to go to the championship games from Douglass High. He received a BA Degree from University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.
He started his coaching in the late 70's as a coach. He won many championships and mentored many young troubled youth. He also was a organizer for the Maryland Football Cheerleading Association. Coach also was involved in the community as an advocate for the homeless where he dedicated his time to Baltimore Care Services where he provided meals to the less fortunate. He also did security for Water Towers in his daily ventures. 2010 he gave his life over to God where he was an active member of Triumph Christian Church.
Coach leaves to cherish in his memory: five children Sonia, Toi, Andre (Quan wife) and Brandon. A host of grandkids; Nakia, Nichalos, Deven, Tatayana, De'Asiashon, Shonniqua, Shondraiya, Shontazia, Lenay, Shynia, Taylor and Michael; a host of uncles and aunts, extended family; Brandon, Terence, Kevin, Tavon and Jamma and a host of family and friends.
