Allen Banks was called home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2018. He was born on January 16, 1946 to the late John Henry and Dolly B. Banks.
Allen was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina where he grew up in the area called “Oak Grove,” and where he attended Elizabeth City - Pasquotank Public Schools. He later left Elizabeth City at the age of 20 and moved to Baltimore, Maryland until his untimely death. He was employed in Baltimore at Sparrows Point for many years and he also worked as a carpenter for many years. Allen was a very funny man and loved to joke around. If you wanted a good laugh, all you had to do was be around him and he would have you in tears laughing so hard. He was a good man and loved by so many.
To cherish Allen’s precious memories are his daughters, Shawna Banks, Felisha Harris (Walter) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and Charmecia Adrian Banks of Baltimore, Maryland, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, sisters, Glennie Snowden, Carmen Banks, Shirley Skinner, Denise Williams (Shelton) all of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and Emma Williams (John) of Delarn, New Jersey; brother, Darryl Banks (Dena) of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, Jerrold Banks of New Jersey and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Allen also had two special friends that were dear to him, Virginia Moore and Jaime Queen and her two children he loved dearly like his own Jose Sanchez and Ka’Myia Sanchez.
Allen was preceded in death by his brothers John Henry Banks, Jr., William banks and his sister Adel Banks.
