Alice Williams Obituary

Alice Marie Williams, the oldest daughter of the late Marie and the late Clarence Jones was born on November 29,1947 in Baltimore, Md. Alice entered into eternal rest on March 5, 2019 after a brief illness. Her sister, Shirley Hallie Hernandez predeceased her.

Alice received her education in the Baltimore city Public school system and was a proud graduate of the Dunbar high school class of 1965. Upon completion of her education, Alice worked various jobs such as telephone operator and art teacher until her eventual career with the State of Md Dept of Social Services as a case worker for 32 yrs until her retirement.

Alice married her high school sweetheart, Melvin Williams and from this union 2 children were born, Tammie and Melvin Jr. Alice loved the Lord and didn’t mind telling others about his goodness and mercy towards her. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist church. She enjoyed attending church services and bible study. She was also a member of the Women’s Chorus and the Golden Age club until her health prevented her from attending services.

Alice was a very active and social person despite her health challenges. She enjoyed activities such as traveling, going to the Waxter center and enjoying Zumba and line dance classes. She also enjoyed crotcheting , reading and shopping especially buying online items from QVC and HSN. She loved to show off her lastest gadget, cookware set or gadget that that she just had to have. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Naomi Grand Chapter Rising Star Chapter #2 and Guiding Light Chapter#26.

Alice’s greatest joy was spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren, who she absolutely adored and spoiled rotten.

Alice leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted children, Tammie and Melvin Jr, her son in law,Robert, her daughter in law,Christine, 8 grandchildren, Khafre, Robert III, Brandyn, Tayvone, Taniyah, Jeanna, Mackenzie and Mason, 2 goddaughters-Antoinette Mc Nair and Angelique Marcus, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
