TOWANDA CHAFFIN,53, passed away on January 19, 2017at her home in Baltimore, MD.She was born on July 21, 1963 in Baltimore to

Walter andMyrtle Chaffin.

Wanda, as she was affectionately called by her family and close friends, grew up in Baltimore City. She graduated from Eastern High School in

1981. After high school she went to work in various sales positions, before finding her home at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in the dietary

department.Wanda found her niche’ at the 601 Grille, she loved her job and her work family. She developed many long-lasting friendships with

her fellow co-workers, Sharon, Annie and Yvonne, to name a few. Towanda worked at the 601 Grille for over 20 years. For a brief time, Wanda was

enrolled in Sojourner Douglass College, as her interest in computers and the technology industry grew.

She enjoyed movies, music, sports and all things technology.She was denitely a “techy,” staying up to date on all the newly released digital

gadgets. She loved taking photos, going on Sharon’s yearly ski trip and reading. Wanda was an avid collector of Dooney and Bourke handbags,

adding to her collection as often as possible. She was known for her expansive vocabulary, displaying her love for education. One of her

favorite hobbies was making extraordinary Easter Baskets for the children. She took pride in sharing her craft, knowing the baskets brought joy and

delight to those who were blessed to receive them.

Wanda is survived by her siblings, Aaron Bradford-Bey and Nancy Victoria Brown; beloved nieces and nephews Derrick, Davida, Aaron Jr. (John Boy),

Rodrick Sr. and Adriene (Donta); great nieces and nephews Deonte’(Yoni), Rodrick Jr. (Ricky), Tyler, Ryann, Taylor, Deaja and a host of other relatives

and friends.

Wanda and Nancy have been close since childhood. Sharing life moments with each other, from the birth of Nancy’s two sons; Rodrick and Gary, to

traveling on their first cruise together. Nancy was by Wanda’s side throughout her entire illness, caring for her daily, accompanying her to

appointments and standing beside her when God called her home.

Towanda was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Myrtle Chaffin, siblings, Warren, Donnell and James and her nephew Gary. She

was also preceded in death by her pet cat, Kitty, who she referred to as her baby, whenever she was asked if she had any kids.
