Welcome to the memorial page for

Tangie E. Goods

July 29, 1960 ~ August 22, 2017 (age 57) 57 Years Old

On July 29, 1960, Heaven released an Angel and Tangie Elizabeth Scroggins was born to Sarah Elizabeth McKinnon (Reed) and Calvin George Scroggins who both preceded her in death. On Tuesday, August 22, 2017, God looked down from Heaven, saw a tired soul and allowed Tangie to ascend. God walked in the midst of His garden and gently viewed the place; He saw it would make Heaven brighter if He added one dear face; He reached down and took from earth's treasure our loved one to fill the space; a jewel beyond earth's value who cannot be replaced.

Tangie graduated from Eastern High School and continued her education by earning her Associate's Degree in Business Management from the Community College of Baltimore. She attended Coppin State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Tangie was employed by various large corporations. Her greatest accomplishment and joy came from teaching. She worked for the Baltimore City School System as an Elementary School Teacher at Moravia Park/ Frankford Elementary until her illness.

Tangie met the love of her life and soulmate, Charles Anthony Goods (Tony) while attending Woodbourne Junior High School. They later married on December 1, 1979. Together they raised Demond, Devon and adopted daughter Keyona.

Tangie confessed Christ at an early age while attending Milton Ave. Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Wooten. She rededicated her life to Christ at the Pleading Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop Jackson and the mentorship of the late Rev. Anna Lee Booker. Later, she joined the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Leroy Gillard, Jr. She followed her husband to St. John's Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as the Assistant Pastor under the leadership of the late Reverend Felder.

Tangie fully embraced her role as 1st. Lady at Christian Temple Baptist Church. She thought of her church family as an extended family. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. In every aspect of the church she put her hands to the plow. 1st. Lady Goods served in various ministries that included the Communion Choir; Children's Choir Director, Usher, Teacher, Minister's Wives, Deaconess, Women's Ministry Leader, Advisor for Christian Temple Summer Camp, and Trustee. She happily wore many hats and filled many shoes.

1st. Lady Goods loved people, especially children. She was known as "Mom" or "Omar" (Grandma) to many family, friends and strangers. She was always there to give advice and wise counsel in addition to lending a helping hand.

In her free time, 1st. Lady Goods enjoyed playing Pacman, spades, braiding hair, family outings, cookouts, crab feasts, reading, watching the lifetime channel and attending events for her children and grandchildren. She loved the word of God and eagerly attended church services to Praise and Worship the Lord.

1st. Lady Goods leaves to mourn: her devoted husband Tony; son Demond, three daughters, Devon, Lesha and Keyona; nine grandchildren, Paige, Amarri, Haley, Morgan, Cuniya, Korrohn, Khoren,Cadence and Kameren; siblings, Jeannie (Deacon William Hatchet, Rosemary (Alphonse) Moore, Karolyn Banks, Carolyn Scroggins-Bell, Howard McKinnon, Marshall Scroggins (Joanne), Marvell Scroggins (Lise') and Barry Scroggins; in-laws, Jacqueline Goods, John Goods Jr., Rosalind "Annette" Hall, Bryan Goods, Sr., Leon (Frances) Goods, Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Loved ones that preceded her in death; JoAnn McKinnon-McAlister (sister), Carroll Scroggins (brother), Calvin "Bunny" Scroggins (brother), John T. Goods, Sr. (father-in-law) and Eugene Banks, Sr. (brother-in-law).
