SHARON DENISE THORNTON, was born June 19, 1954 to Agnes and Gaither Thornton Sr., who both proceeded her in death. At a very young age, Sharon accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior. She a member at Enoch Baptist Church, participating on the church choir. She was called home to be with her Heavenly Father, parents and four brothers, Gaither, Anthony, Dennis and Antonio on November 7, 2017.

Sharon, affectionately known as "Aunt Sharon" to many, attended and graduated from Baltimore City Public Schools. Upon graduation, Sharon returned to Baltimore City Public Schools as an  assistant teacher and long term substitute. You could also see her working the election polls during an election year.

Sharon was the life of the party, the mouth of south and the pulse of the family. Known for her sassiness and fiery words, some of her sayings included, "I'll knock a bone out your head" and "You better bet it". A sharp mouth was matched by a bold heart. There was nothing under the sun that Sharon would not do for a loved one, friend or stranger. She often carried a small change purse, with many cards and one crinkled dollar. She would not hesitate to give that dollar to someone in need. There are so many people who have been touched by Sharon, memories and so many stories.  

Sharon leaves to mourn: her son Leon "Poocus" Pinkney, five granddaughters, Kierra, Tyreeka, Shareeka, Iesha, Qwanisha Pinkney, one grandson, Dayon Pinkney and a great-granddaughter, MaKaylia. She leaves three sisters Cynthia, Garlinda and Shedena Thornton along with two brothers Gary and Timothy Thornton Sr., a future daughter-in-law, Sharon and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousin, family and friends.
