MOZELLE LAMBIRTH was born in Pender County, North Carolina on November 12, 1929 to the late Jack and Carrie Rogers. She peacefully departed this life on January 22, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
Mozelle was educated in North Carolina Public School Systems. She was briefly employed in Burlington, North Carolina before relocating to Baltimore, Maryland where she gained employment under Senator Barbara Ann Hoffman and Sheila Hoffman until she retired.
Mozelle, fondly known as "Mo", lived to the fullest. She enjoyed shopping, singing, fishing, attending church and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was an active member of Second Shiloh Church of Christ. She served as a Mother of the church and was a member of the Usher Board, Nursing Board, Senior Choir, Gospel Choir, Mass Choir and Kitchen Committee. She served faithfully until she was physically unable to serve.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Wesley Allison; from this union, five children were born. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Elder William Lambirth; her son, Douglas Allison (Paula); and her siblings, Harry Rogers, Maggie Jones, Rosie Pearl Allison and Dorothy Graves.
She is survived by four children, James (Denise), Elmer, Carolyn (Wendell) and Taron; her siblings, Levi Colbert, Mary Mae Davis (NC), John Rogers (Lesia) (NC); fourteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, goddaughter; devoted friend, Betty Johnson; aunt, Linda Rogers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
