Gloria Maxine Saunders was born on September 6, 1942
to the late Edna Mae and John H. Clark. She departed
this life suddenly on September 11, 2017.
Gloria received her education in the Baltimore City Public
School System, attending Paul Laurence Dunbar Senior
High School. She worked for Social Security
Administration and after 36 years of dedicated service,
she retired.
She was a memeber of Southern Baptist Church. She later
left to join Memorial Baptist Church in July 2010.
Moochie was a memeber of F.E.W. Harper Temple #429
for over 40 years, a member of the Coldstream
Recreation Center Seniors, and Rita’s Church. She loved
traveling by bus on long road trips, going to various
casinos, and listening to her classic oldies but goodies
music was her greatest pasttime. At her 75th birthday
party, she had two special request. Baby Washington’s
‘That’s How Heartaches Are Made” and Junior Walker
and The Allstars ‘What does it take to win your love for me’. Angela had her last
dance with her.
Her specialty was doing the pigs feet for gatherings.
Moochie or Big Momma as she was affectionately called,
by her family and friends will truly be missed by all who
knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a longtime
companion Isaac Walton, two brothers, Arnold and
Charles, her aunt Teenie and cousin Mrs. Flora Mae Bailey.
Gloria leaves to cherish and mourn her life; her son, Leo;
a daughter, Angela; a son in-law, Gregory; three
granddaughters, Shakia, Danyel, and Jessica; five
grandsons, Lil Leo, Lamar, Luke, Scooter, and Frenchie;
five special loving great grandchildren, Dae’Keirah,
Xallah, Kaylin, Baby Scoot Scoot, and Dylan; loving aunt,
Erma L. Spencer; six sisters, Mary, Theresa, Cheryl, Phyllis,
Elaine, and Diane; two brothers, Leon and Tyrone; one uncle;
two brothers in-law; best friends, Connie, Lonnie, Marion, Toni,
and Paulette; special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Chris Dodd, and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
