GLORIA ANN KENNEDY, daughter of the late Scotty Gardner and Bernice Holland, was born on May 26, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on April 16, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
Ma Gloria, as she was affectionately known, received her education at Baltimore City Public School #452. At the age of 14 she became employed by Sevenlane and Company; where she worked for 9 years. She also worked as a full-time bartender. She was a member of U.B.C. Church of the Living God and gave her life back to the Lord in February 2017.
Her interests included her long talks with her son Wink and playing cards, Solitaire was her favorite game. Ma Gloria loved to see all of her grandkids. She loved sitting on the steps or looking out the window and playing her music. She made numerous friends and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her. Although she was so tiny, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Eric James and Poohie Patterson; three grandsons, Vlezqurez Goode Jr., Donte Smith and Rhyshon Smith.
She leaves to mourn: two sisters, Yvonne McNeal and Rochelle Gardner; six sons, Vlezqurez Goode (Wink), Ronald Smith, Laverne Patterson, Lamont Rodgers, Leslie Smith, and Tony Watson Sr.; two daughters-in-law, Davina Goode (Vena) and Greta Brown Smith; ten grandkids, Chadae, Chavez, Chanyah, Little Ronald, Jamiearra, Ronte, Shawn, Quana, Deaisa and Little Rell; one adopted grandson, Terrell Howard; fourteen great-grand kids and her close friend May.
