Gerald Karl Rowe, affectionately known as "Twin" was the son
of the late James and Minnie Rowe. He was born October 5, 1952 in
Baltimore, Maryland and departed this life on July 7, 2017.
He received his education in Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated
from Baltimore City College in 1972. Gerald furthered his education with
his studies at Bay College from 1972-1974. He worked for the Baltimore
City Patapsco Waste Water Treatment Facility for over 25 years. He enjoyed
his work with the city and loved spending time with his family.
At the age of 19, he married Deborah Barron and from that union, one
daughter Jerrae (Shantay) was born. As a young father, he was very nurturing
and caring and he loved his "baby girl." He was known for saying, "she
looks just like her daddy". He enjoyed sitting in the park watching people
exercise. Gerald always had a thin build, but he loved to eat. His favorites
were mashed potatoes, baked potatoes and steak. He also loved to eat
at Subway, Denny's, Joe Joes and the IHOP. Gerald loved to play cards.
Spades and pinochle were his favorite. He loved to travel, play the lottery
and he loved a good party. He enjoyed watching the Orioles, Ravens and
the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In August 2003, Gerald married Mary "Diane" Jackson. Together they
traveled to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Connecticut and several other places. No
matter where they were it was common for Gerald to ask her to make
him a plate. Until this day, they were still happily married.
Gerald was a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, grandfather
and friend. He will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Jerrae (Shantay Hurt)
(Randy Hurt); three step daughters, Wanda Deshields (Terrance DeShields,)
