Edna B White

September 8, 1938 ~ April 20, 2017 (age 78) 78 Years Old

EDNA BELL SCOTT WHITE was born on September 8, 1938, in Yemassee, South Carolina to the late Christopher Black and Pearl Scott Brown. On Thursday, April 20, 2017, after a long illness and while surrounded by family, Edna was called home to be with the Lord.

Edna moved to Baltimore, Maryland at an early age to be raised by her aunt and uncle, Joseph and Sadie Mitchell. She was educated through the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Dunbar High School.

Edna was raised in a Christian home and she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized at Israel Baptist Church at the age of twelve. As an adult she became a member of United Baptist Church. She took her children to worship at United Baptist for many years. Due to physical hardships, she moved her membership to First Charity Baptist Church over twenty years ago. At First Charity Baptist Church, she was a member of the Senior Board until her health began to fail.

Edna was blessed with a daughter and  son. In 1965 she married Nathaniel White and was blessed with three more sons. Edna worked several temporary jobs, but she spent her life as a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her family and her family loves her.

Edna was known for being witty, outgoing and outspoken. She loved to read books in hardcopy and electronic formats. She was fascinated about the journey upon which one could embark just by reading a book. Edna loved the Ravens even when she was frustrated and nervous by their performance. She liked watching westerns and enjoyed playing board games with family and friends. Edna also liked to travel with her children because she wanted to instill in them the desire to go out and experience life.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, son Barry Scott, sisters, Mary Smalls, Roberta Black, Lillie Black, Louise Brown, Jeanette Holmes, Susie Morgan and Sandra Morgan, brothers, Dan brown, William "King" Brown, Jr., Eric Black, Calvin Francis and Sylvester Morgan.
