Darnetta Denise Buckson (Hersheykizzez), daughter of the late Donna Holmes and Willie Buckson Jr. was born September 22, 1982 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was suddenly called from labor to the everlasting on February 9, 2017. Darnetta received her education in Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Patterson Senior High School Class of 2000. Despite spending the greater part of her adult life battling illness, Darnetta had this strength about her. The wisdom and courage that allowed her to face adversity yet remain grateful for the life she had. Always one to say, with a smile on her face, “it could be worse…I’m blessed”. She was never one to ask for a lot. It was the small things in life that brought her joy. From her love of cooking, the constant hairstyles and color change ups. These were the unique things that made Darnetta who she was. She could always be found cooking and singing. She would probally be playing an Anita Baker song, one of her favorite old school jams. If she could bring people together, she would cook and sing everyday. Her greatest joy was the love for her family and friends. She was the glue that kept a lot of people together. Darnetta was always willing to be there for everyone. If you needed to vent, she listened but right behind it was that much needed advice. Or maybe you just needed to laugh; she was always one to tell a joke and make you laugh until you cried. She was one of the most selfless and caring people you’d ever want to meet. That was part of her charm, which made you love her and why she’ll be missed. Darnetta was preceded in dealth by her parents Donna Holmes & Willie Buckson Jr, the love of her life Voilet Holmes her beloved “Grandmother”, grandmother FannieMae Buckson and Sharon Cheatom Darnetta leaves to cherish her memory: Great Uncle Oscar Cheatom & Great Aunt Rosalee Cheatom; Two Aunts Elvera Buckson and Patricia Campbell; one uncle Wade Buckson; Special cousins: Wayne “Carter” Scott Jr, Towanda “Whompie” Cheatom, Tia Cheatom & Kimberly Jordan; Godchildren: Tientonia Allen, Makayla Thomas, Marcianna Carter (Glambaby); LLR family and a host of family and friends.
