November 25, 1937 ~ February 16, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

BETTY F. DAVIS, was born on November 25, 1937 in Wingate, North Carolina to the late Ella Deese and James Deese.

She moved to Baltimore in 1942. She was a graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School where she studied nursing.

Betty went on to pursue her interest in nursing and worked for Johns Hopkins Hospital for over thirty years until her retirement. While at Johns Hopkins, Betty received numerous awards and accolades for outstanding work performance.

She was united in holy matrimony to James Davis in May of 1978. This union was blessed with one child, Norval, as they became a blended family. James preceded her in death in December 1989.

At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined the St. Paul Baptist Church. Betty remained a devoted long-time member of the St. Paul Baptist Church. She had a generous spirit and amusing personality, she was adored by many. Her Christian life was a great example of love for God and family. Betty was a stern but gentle soul to everyone who knew her. She was very supportive, understanding and caring. We were blessed to endure her presence on earth and her humble influence will forever remain in the hearts.

Betty was a dedicated mother of five children. She spent a lot of time with her daughter Nerissa it was rare to see one without the other. Betty enjoyed traveling, viewing Facebook and most of all spending time with her grandchildren the :Quints" and the new addition to the family her great grandson Darius. She cherished of all her grandchildren but spent most of her time cutting up with Toya and Dontray

After a valiant fight with breast cancer and lengthy illness she began home care and was provided care and support from her children Nerissa and Norval as well as her brother Patrick and grandson Dontray. Our Angel quietly departed this life Thursday, February 16, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
